TO HIRE OR NOT TO HIRE?
To Hire or Buy? That is the question
In the current economic climate we are being asked more than ever why we don’t hire out suits, and the simple reason is we actually don’t believe it as cost-effective to hire a suit as opposed to buying one. This is a common question that many of our customers have, and while it might seem the cheaper choice to hire a suit, in the long run this is not the case.
We will detail below our thoughts behind our bold statement –
Hiring a suit
Although initially the cost might be more affordable, you will ultimately be wearing a suit that has already been worn multiple times. This means that there will likely be signs of wear and tear, this is something we have been seeing more and more frequently within the hire sector. By no fault of its own the hire sector was battered more than most by the pandemic 2 years of zero income, whilst other menswear specialists like ourselves were able to flip into eccomerce and still generate crucial revenue selling leisurewear online. The knock on effect is some hire stock is now looking extremely tired and very well worn
Another factor to keep in mind is tailoring, the level or alterations you can have will also be very very limited as they need to be reversible to ensure they fit the next customer. So it really will only be basic tailoring that can be undertaken.
Buying a suit
Obviously, when it comes to buying a suit, the cost will be higher, but on a lot of occasions the monetary difference may not be as much as you thought, our starting price for a suit is only £168 – spending on what you are after most decent hire suits are coming in at not much (if anything) lower. But remember you will be able to wear this suit multiple times, which means it will not take long to become more cost-effective compared to hiring.
Also, you will have a brand new suit that no one has ever worn before, and we will be able to tailor it to perfection just for you, ensuring you look completely awesome on your special day!

FATHERS DAY, A DAY FOR SUPER HERO’S…
Father’s Day is a holiday that is celebrated across the world to honour and appreciate the contributions of fathers and father figures in our lives. While the holiday is widely known and celebrated today, the tradition of celebrating Father’s Day dates back to ancient times. In this blog, we will explore the history of Father’s Day traditions and how they have evolved over time.
The earliest known celebration of Father’s Day dates back to ancient Babylon, where a young boy named Elmesu carved a Father’s Day message on a clay tablet wishing his father good health and a long life. This was around 4,000 years ago. In ancient Rome, a festival called “Feronia” was held in mid-February to honor fathers and their families. This festival was held in honor of the Roman god of fertility, agriculture, and woods, named “Feronia.”
In the United States, the modern-day observance of Father’s Day can be attributed to Sonora Smart Dodd, the daughter of a Civil War veteran. In 1909, Sonora was attending a Mother’s Day church service when she had the idea of creating a similar holiday to honor fathers. She wanted to honor her own father, who had raised six children on his own after his wife passed away. She proposed that a day be set aside to honor fathers, and the first Father’s Day was celebrated on June 19, 1910, in Spokane, Washington.
Father’s Day was not officially recognized as a national holiday until 1972, when President Richard Nixon signed it into law. Since then, Father’s Day has been celebrated on the third Sunday in June every year in the United States. In other countries, the date of Father’s Day varies. For example, in Australia, Father’s Day is celebrated on the first Sunday in September, while in Thailand, it is celebrated on December 5th.
The traditional way of celebrating Father’s Day has also evolved over time. The most common way of celebrating Father’s Day is by giving gifts, such as wallets, ties, polo shirts and t shirts or other personal items. However, many families choose to celebrate the holiday by spending quality time with their fathers, such as going out to dinner or participating in outdoor activities. Some families also create homemade gifts or cards to show their appreciation and love for their fathers.
In conclusion, Father’s Day has a rich history that dates back to ancient times. Today, Father’s Day is celebrated in many countries across the world, and the way in which it is celebrated has evolved over time. Regardless of how it is celebrated, the holiday serves as a reminder to appreciate and honor the contributions of fathers and father figures in our lives.
